  1. Hear and read at the same time

    Following spoken English while the same words highlight on screen supports both comprehension and pronunciation. You are reading the original text, not a translation of it.

  2. Slow down exactly where you need to

    Turn the pace down through an unfamiliar passage, then bring it back up for material you already know. The voice stays natural at any speed.

  3. Ask about the sentence that will not resolve

    Ask about a phrase, an idiom, or a technical term. Answers are grounded in your document and cite the page, so you can go back and re-read it in context.

  4. Read your own material in your own language

    Add documents in Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi and more. Recitare detects the language and reads it aloud in a natural voice for that language.

  5. Build academic vocabulary as you go

    Select any passage and Smart Cards turns it into a study card with the key terms defined in the context they appeared in, rather than as an isolated word list.

  6. Check your understanding, not just your reading

    A short review asks you to put an idea in your own words and tells you how close you came. That is the difference between having decoded the sentence and having understood the argument.
