Welcome to Recitare. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
By creating an account or using Recitare, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy, and Fair Use Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Recitare is a web-based platform that converts text documents to audio, provides AI-powered study tools (quizzes, flashcards, summaries), and offers access to public domain books. Features vary by subscription plan.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activity under it. You must be at least 13 years old to use Recitare.
We offer a full refund within the first 7 days of a new subscription. After this period, no refunds are provided for partial billing periods. Contact support@recitare.app for refund requests.
You retain full ownership of any content you upload or paste into the Service. Your documents and generated audio are stored encrypted (in transit and at rest) so your library and instant replay work; you can permanently delete any document, or your entire account, at any time. We do not use your content to train AI models, do not share it with third parties beyond the AI processors named in our Privacy Policy, and no human reviews it.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for the accuracy and content of all materials you provide to the Service. By using Recitare, you represent and warrant that:
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Recitare, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any intellectual property or other rights of any third party.
Recitare does not monitor, review, or pre-screen user content. The Service acts solely as a tool to convert text provided by the user into speech. Recitare is not responsible for any copyright infringement or other legal violations committed by users. You use the Service at your own risk and assume full responsibility for the content you provide.
Recitare and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Recitare and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the service without our written permission.
Recitare integrates with third-party services including Google (Gemini for AI study features and premium TTS) and Anthropic (Claude for image OCR), as well as Stripe (for payment processing). Your use of these features is also subject to the respective third-party terms of service.
Recitare is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or our policies. You may delete your account at any time from Account → Security. Your account is deactivated immediately, any active subscription is canceled, and all your data \u2014 documents, original files, cached audio, and account details \u2014 is permanently erased within 30 days. Signing back in within that window cancels the deletion. Payment and invoice records are held by our payment processor (Stripe) as required for tax and legal compliance. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately.
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
For questions about these terms, contact us at support@recitare.app.
