Fair Use Policy

Last updated: February 2026

Recitare offers generous access to AI-powered study features on our Reader and Pro plans. To ensure a great experience for all users, these features are subject to the following fair use guidelines.

What "Unlimited" Means

We want you to use Recitare as much as you need for your studies. "Unlimited" means there are no hard caps on the number of quizzes, flashcards, summaries, or Q&A interactions you can generate. We design our systems to support heavy, genuine academic use.

Fair Use Guidelines

Fair use means using Recitare for its intended purpose: personal studying and learning. Usage that falls outside fair use includes:

  • Automated or scripted access to AI features (bots, scrapers, API abuse)
  • Reselling or redistributing AI-generated content commercially
  • Generating content unrelated to study materials uploaded to your account
  • Sharing account credentials with multiple people
  • Using the service in a way that degrades performance for other users

What Happens If Usage Is Excessive

If we detect usage patterns that are significantly outside normal academic use, we will:

  1. Reach out first: We'll contact you to understand your use case. Most of the time, heavy usage is completely legitimate.
  2. Work with you: If your needs exceed what our standard plans support, we'll work with you to find a solution.
  3. Temporary limits: Only as a last resort, and only after communication, we may apply temporary rate limits.

For exceeding these fair-use limits, we will reach out and work with you first \u2014 we won't suspend your account over usage without warning. (Suspensions for abuse or violations of our Acceptable Use Policy are handled separately.)

Listening Allowances

Reader plans include 50,000 words/month of Inworld AI voices. Pro plans include 500,000 words/month with Gemini TTS. Free tier includes 1,000 words/week with quality AI voices. Unused allowances do not roll over.
